About the Project<\/h4><\/div><\/div>\n\n

How We Work<\/h1><\/div><\/div>\n\n
<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Project Denkmal \u2013 Bodil Begtrup is driven by more than 85 volunteers \u2013 including retired civil servants from the public and private sectors as well as NGO\/IGO representatives \u2013 all of whom contribute knowledge, networks, and experience.<\/p>\n

We work in groups across disciplines, both in person and digitally. The aim is to spark interest in everything Bodil Begtrup fought for. <\/p>\n

The project is supported by, among others, Bodil Begtrup\u2019s family, researchers, historians, the Danish Women\u2019s Council, Save the Children Denmark, the Danish United Nations Association, Forbrugerr\u00e5det T\u00e6nk, the Organisation Living Human Rights, the Danish Foreign Policy Society, Nyborg Municipality, and others, thereby reaching more than 1 million citizens.<\/p>\n

DENKMAL<\/h4><\/div><\/div>\n\n

Why have we chosen the German word Denkmal as the title of our project?<\/p>\n

Bodil Begtrup took part in the work of drafting the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948. The introduction to the Declaration states: <\/p>\n

\u201cRecognition of the inherent dignity and of the equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world\u201d<\/p>\n
